Colorado Sustainable Design Awards 2011

Benedict Park Place 5B (290 Park Avenue West), designed by B+Y, received 2nd Place at the 2011 Colorado Sustainable Design Award (CSDA) in the Multifamily Residential Category.

B+Y and Deneuve Construction had only 1 change order during delivery of 290 Park Avenue West to DHA.

Geothermal Energy at 290 Park Ave West

Geothermal energy will supply all of the domestic hot water as well as meet all of the heating and cooling needs for Benedict Park Place 5B.  B+Y, Deneuve and DHA worked with PCD Engineering and Geo-Energy Solutions to establish 42 bore holes, each 440' deep, allowing this urban infill site to eliminate the need for natural gas service. 

 

Encouraging Healthy Living at 290 Park Avenue West

To encourage walking, B+Y designed this 3-story, 75 unit apartment building with three stairways located at convenient access points.  The stairways and hallways are designed to admit natural light, have daylight sensors to minimize electrical consumption and the lighting is powered by solar energy.
