In 1989, Arlo Braun co-founded
an architectural practice in Denver, Braun & Downing. In 1994 Arlo continued
the practice as Arlo Braun & Associates. In 2004, Arlo Braun and Kevin
Yoshida formalized their 2000 partnership with a new identity,
B+Y
Architects.
Since beginning as an
architectural practice, we have extended our breadth to include town
planning. Our experience enables us to work on projects that re-define the
possibilities of neighborhood design.
Our work includes a wide range
of housing types, from attached and detached homes to mixed-use projects
and includes affordable, market-rate and custom price points.
Our homes enhance the livability
of communities. Our plans are designed to accommodate the great variety of
lifestyles in a diverse marketplace.
We work closely with
jurisdictions and developers to create livable communities. Jurisdictions
recognize quality design. Our design combined with zoning and planning
knowledge expedites the entitlement process. Our expertise is also sought
for the development of design guidelines and for the diligence required by
design review boards to maintain quality.
Our recent mixed-use plans are
focused on place-making and integrate parks, town centers and civic
facilities into the neighborhood fabric. Careful consideration is always
given to the relationship between the structures and the site.
