Historically, charrette refers to “cart” from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris; students assigned an intensive design problem would work to the last possible second, following the cart assigned to pick up their drawings for delivery to their professors.
B+Y’s charrette could be a few hours at your home to answer questions and germinate a renovation project, a day at our office to design a new building or several days on-site integrating our experience with master planning and housing typologies.
